my clean beauty philosophy

My Philosophy:

Clean beauty means using safe, non-toxic beauty products and avoiding the toxic ones — products made with long lists of ingredients linked to harmful health effects like hormone disruption, cancer, and other illnesses

Why It’s Important:

Have you been told your beauty products are “safe”? That’s a load of crap. The FDA allows chemicals known to cause cancer, including parabens, phthalates, formaldehyde, and lead to be used in common beauty products. In fact, the last US federal law regulating personal care products was passed in 1938. Over 80,000 chemicals have made their way into products since then, and only 10 percent of those were tested for human safety.

The average woman lathers, rubs, and sprays over 515 synthetic chemicals on her body every day. Imagine what’s absorbed over a lifetime. What goes ON your skin goes IN your body. Your skin is your body’s largest organ and it absorbs whatever you put on it.

How To Get Started:

Luckily, it’s never been easier to join the clean beauty clan! Non-toxic beauty is all the rage. New companies pop up on a daily basis and the choices are endless. While a complete overhaul can be both expensive and overwhelming, remember, going clean is a process and that’s okay. Make one healthy choice at a time and avoid these top ingredients.
